Honoring Karen. Helping Others.
The heart and history behind Karen’s Angels
Our Story
Karen had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged. Whether it was a neighbor going through a difficult time or a friend with nowhere to go, she welcomed them with open arms and a seat at the table. Holidays in her home were more than just immediate family. They were shared with anyone who needed warmth, a meal, or simply to be seen. Karen believed deeply in giving back and wanted her family to be part of that experience. She brought them along to volunteer at soup kitchens, encouraged them to help others quietly and consistently, and showed them that small acts of kindness could leave a lasting impact.
When Karen passed away in 2018, her family felt the weight of her absence but also the pull to continue the legacy she left behind. That first Christmas without her, instead of exchanging gifts, Amy and Billy adopted a local family in need and came together to make their holiday a little brighter. It was a healing moment and a powerful reminder of Karen’s heart. That single act of kindness became the beginning of Karen’s Angels—a nonprofit founded by her children and driven by the same compassion she instilled in them. What started as one family helping another has since grown into a mission to support families, foster homes, and seniors throughout the year, continuing the work Karen began.

Amy Olsen
Founder
Amy started Karen’s Angels after she and her husband, Billy, were inspired to give back during their first Christmas without her mom, Karen. What began as one simple act of kindness has since grown into a full nonprofit rooted in love, generosity, and community. Amy leads with heart, making sure every family served feels the same warmth her mom always shared. -
Jessica Esquivel
Co-Founder
Jessica has been part of Karen’s Angels from the very beginning, joining her sister Amy in turning a personal act of giving into something much bigger. Whether she’s organizing behind the scenes, helping with events, or simply bringing her steady support, Jessica plays a key role in keeping the heart of the mission alive. -
Jen Caro
